Hello, I’m Andrew, the founder and Director of MMP.
One of the first questions I get asked is, why I became a letting agent?
My journey was not a textbook one, having never worked for a letting agent or an estate agent – but this would prove to be absolutely critical to the success of MMP, having not been tainted by the bad practices that had engulfed many high street estate agents.
As a property developer and landlord myself since 2002, I had became increasingly frustrated by the large high street agents, for their lack of personal service and distinctly high, and sometimes ‘hidden’, fees.
On being approached by a friend in 2007 to look after their property, while they moved to New York on a work placement, it appeared there were many people out there fed up with the current letting agent offering, so it seemed like the perfect opportunity to create a modern and honest letting agency – so I did.
On many levels I did the opposite of what the High Street Agents were doing! I took my experience of property development and as a landlord myself, and created a lettings and property management company from a landlord and tenant’s perspective.
I am still a landlord (as is my Property Manager), so we have a distinct advantage over many of our competitors – we can talk to our landlords from a position of direct experience and we treat our portfolio properties just like our own.
We are honest, highly qualified (‘Fellows’ of ARLA) and offer a good value for money service. We now let and manage 150 properties in SW London – so feel free to contact me if you would like to chat about your rental property.
